BBC Children in Need are currently looking for a Voluntary Advisory Committee Chair and Vice Chair in the South and West region.
BBC Children in Need exists to make a positive difference to the lives of disadvantaged children and young people across the UK. The impact on children’s lives is front and centre of the work the charity undertakes over and above the projects and services funded.
They stress their focus is on finding and funding the inspiring ideas that change children’s lives.
And say that, whilst they know that every child deserves a childhood that is safe, happy and secure, they know too that a growing number of children are experiencing ever increasing and more complex levels of disadvantage. In order to find and fund the inspiring ideas, they want to build on their commitment across the organisation to work collaboratively with all those who share our aspirations for children and young people.
The Chair will be responsible for leading the Advisory Committee meetings. In their absence the Vice-Chair will assume this responsibility. Both the Chair and Vice Chair will be expected to demonstrate unbiased, clear and supportive leadership; an ability to manage a diverse range of personalities and experiences, and lead the committee through difficult decision-making by placing the balance of emphasis on information and objectivity.
